The gender-bread person

When I worked for my last company, we had a wonderful culture of inclusion. The lgbtqia+ organization at my company brought in a trans youth outreach program which trained corporations on gender and sexuality in exchange for funding for their program.

As someone who is intersex, it was the fist time that I had ever heard someone say the word intersex out-loud. It was an amazing experience and I wanted to share a bit of the training with you all.

When you are intersex, trans, non-bionary, gay, or sometimes even straight it can be hard to put into words exactly how you identify and feel about yourself and others. Below is a tool called the gender-bread person that I learned that day. The idea is that many identities are on a spectrum, and you can identify where on that spectrum you may lie.
